Landau Scrubs actually “star” on TV!

The Scrub Insider recently tuned in to check out the new medical drama series “Miami Medical”  and was intrigued to see the cast in Landau scrubs

1

The Insider has long been a fan of Landau scrubs for their quality and style.

To the Insider, this series seems to be based loosely on the world famous Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.  The star of the show is Jeremy Northam as Dr. Matthew Proctor, the ER Physician.  Girls, we all know the elegant Jeremy as “Mr. Knightley” in the movie “Emma” with Gywenth Paltrow.  And yes, the Insider thinks he is just as dreamy as Dr. Proctor!

The medical staff in the ER wears Landau Caribbean Blue in the La2ndau one pocket top, style 7502 and the Landau drawstring pant, style 7602.  Lana Parilla as Dr. Eva Zambrano looks great in her Landau scrubs!

Nurse Tuck Brody, played by Omar Gooding, wears Landau’s two tone  men’s scrub top, style 7565 in steel and wine with the best selling Landau style 8555 men’s cargo pant in steel.  I love Nurse Brody’s  great rapport with patients and how calm he remains in the most hectic ER environment.

After an Insider call to Landau for the scoop on what I saw on TV, what you see are the regular Landau fabrics in the regular Landau styles you can buy at www.ScrubsAndBeyond.com or any of our 26 stores.  Caribbean Blue has been a staple in scrub wardrobes for a while now.  But with the new color palettes coming out for fall, Caribbean Blue has an updated, trendy feel to it.  The color also looks great on every one, so no wonder the show’s stylists chose Landau Caribbean Blue!

3Tune into CBS Friday nights at 10PM to see what “Miami Medical” is all about and feel like a star yourself by trying Landau scrubs in Caribbean Blue!

To check out these Landau scrubs and look like a “star”, visit www.ScrubsAndBeyond.com to see these and more great scrubs from Landau!

Ask The Scrub Insider – Going Green

Friday, April 23rd, 2010 BY Scrub Insider

ScrubInsider

Eco-Friendly Scrubs – are they?

There is a lot of buzz about “eco-friendly” scrubs lately and the Scrubs Insider wanted to know, are they really all that friendly to the environment? Well… that depends on a number of things:

First of all, there are scrubs that show your support for the environment. These are scrubs that feature “eco-friendly” messages and icons. The “Got 2B Green” (style# 3505GG) print from Cherokee® is a perfect example of this. While the fabric is the same as any other scrub tops, the message is in the print and is a great way to show your support for the environment. With medical professionals wearing these types of scrubs, the message of being “earth friendly” goes out to everyone you see in a workday and beyond.

You will also find “eco-friendly” scrubs that indicate the fabric has bamboo. Bamboo is an “earth friendly” material because it uses fewer natural resources to farm than cotton, wool or other fibers. Bamboo is also a good choice for medical professionals because this fiber is naturally antimicrobial and evaporates moisture easily.

clip_image003Scrubs & Beyond was the first to bring you the “Do No Harm” line of scrubs. The unique scrubs are a blend of 75% polyester made from recycled water bottles and 25% cotton. The recycled polyester is incredibly soft and wicks moisture so the fabric is cooler to wear. Do No Harm goes a step further by adding an anti-microbial finish made from silver that is recycled from silver sources such as old film. Silver is the finest and most effective barrier against germs you can add as a fabric finish. With fashionable styling and excellent fabric and construction, Do No Harm is truly a “green” scrub line. Style 2110 in Iris & Navy is new for summer and already a top choice for customers who want to go green.

Style# 2009 pant is the top selling Do No Harm pant and is fashion forward with contrast trim and cargo pockets.

How do you find pants that fit?

Friday, March 12th, 2010 BY Scrub Insider

ScrubInsiderHow do you find pants that fit?

The most often heard complaint the Scrub Insider hears is I can’t find pants that fit!  Well, the question you really need to ask is HOW do you want your pants to fit?

There are so many options in scrub pants today, you really can “have it your way”.  But you just need to know what it is you want!

 Pants_D1_02

Scrubs & Beyond®  helps you to find the right fit by showing you fit details for each pant we carry.  Look for the icons above to help you decipher what each pant fit is like.  But what do all those icons mean?

Well , the Scrub Insider is here! Let me break it down for you:

Waist style is usually the fit customers look for first.  In a scrub, a comfortable fitting waist is crucial to a comfortable day at work!

A Traditional Waist”  sits at the natural waist.  It is our most popular waistline in elastic waist pants because it sits very comfortably at the waist and provides good coverage.  Our best selling traditional waist is the Landau Crease Front pant, style 8320.   This pant also features the Tapered Leg” . The tapered leg is visually very slimming because your legs look longer with a tapered leg.

A “Classic Waist”  sits slightly below the natural waist and is our most popular waist in styles with a drawstring front and elastic back.  The Work Wear style 4101 is our most popular style in a classic waist.  This style also features a flare leg.  A flare leg has a straight fit through the thigh and then begins to flare at the knee.  The flare is a great choice if you have larger hips as a flare will balance out your silhouette.

The “Modern Waist”  sits lower on the waist , a little below the navel.  One of our most popular modern waists is the Koi Lindsey pant, style 701.  The pant also feature a boot-cut  fit in the leg.  The boot-cut fits trimmer at the thighs to the knees and then has a flare from the knee down and is also a great figure balancer since it visually lengthens your legs and balances out a larger hip.

The “Trendy Waist”  is our lowest option.  It sits well below the bellybutton.  It is great for those with small hips as it will give the illusion of being curvier.  The Dickies Hip Flip cargo features a trendy waist with a boo-cut leg.

So, think about all the options you have in pants and you will find the fit that makes you happy!    If you want more inside information about your best pant fit or any other fit issue with scrubs, contact the Scrub Insider at scrubinsider@scrubsandbeyond.com.  I will get to work on it right away!

What if you could get a high quality stethoscope for far less than you guessed?

You can get high quality acoustics and precision at a very good price at Scrubs & Beyond!  We now carry the MDF line of stethoscopes.  Until recently this very high quality line of scopes was known only to a few in the healthcare industry.  But at the repeated requests for a better scope and a better price, the Scrub Insider did a little research and found this remarkable line of scopes!

The deluxe dual head at $21.99 has the sensitive acoustics and performance of a scope prices twice as much!  This scope also features the “Ergonomax™ headset that your ears and aching head will thank you for after hours of examinations!

The MDF ER Premier stethoscope has the technical specs for the best emergency room assessments.  An included Bell converts this scope into a classic Cardiology stethoscope.  It’s like getting two scopes for the price of one.

Ask the Scrub Insider

What is it about Cherokee Workwear Scrubs?

ScrubInsider

(Email Us Today!)

Everyone knows about Cherokee Workear, right?

But what is it about Cherokee Workwear scrubs that  makes them so wildy popular?

We have a couple of clues about that!

09AT48_c_4020_m-azl

• Workwear is value priced.

• Workwear comes in 36 colors (yes Scrubs & Beyond carries them all!)

• Workwear is available in 23 styles (yes, we carry them all too!)  and sizes up to 5X in most styles.10SP60_c_4818_m-WHTW

Workwear may be value priced, but that doesn’t mean they are cheap scrubs! Oh no Scrubinistas, the fabric is a very durable and soft poly/cotton poplin that gets softer wash after wash.   The short sleeve and long sleeve tees are stretch cotton and the best tees we sell for perfect layering under any style scrub top.

10SP60_c_4876_m-navy-male

And guys, it just gets better for you!  The Workwear 3-pocket unisex scrub top is what men have been asking for in a scrub top.  Fitted just right with a 29” center back length and roomy, reinforced pockets.   Pair it with the cargo drawstring pants and you will never want for pockets again!  Your work day just got easier!

If the 36 colors and 23 styles in sizes from XXS to 5XL aren’t enough for you, check out the HQ prints to coordinate with your scrubs.  Search our website to find over 50 choices online at any one time.  Just type in HQ  prints at the top of the page and push go!

Happy exploring!  If you want a little more inside information about Workwear or any other scrubs, contact the Scrub Insider at scrubinsider@scrubsandbeyond.com.  I will get to work on it right away!

Introducing the Scrub Insider – here to answer anything you want to know about scrub uniforms! Got a question, need advice, drop the Scrub Insider a line at ScrubInsider@scrubsandbeyond.com

 Melanie from Minnesota asks:

Which scrubs  do you get the most frequent positive feedback on?

ScrubInsider

 Scrub Insider:

Landau Uniforms is a strong contender for the most positive feedback award, and here is why:

  1. Landau sewing and Construction is excellent. With better construction, scrubs wash better and last longer.
  2. Landau fabric is colorfast. Customer’s say their Landau scrubs wash and wash without losing thier color.
getimage

New pant compared to pant after 50 washings.

  1. Landau fabric is high quality. Landau uses some of  the best quality scrub fabrics available. It wears forever!

Well, there you are. It may cost a little more, but a little more investment in a quality scrub will give you twice the wearability of a less expensive scrub. My goodness Scrubinista’s, that’s like doubling your wardrobe!

P.S – Did you know that Landau and Urbane are made by the same company with the same fabrics? That means all colors will match and coordinate between the brands for easy mixing and matching!

Take it from the Scrub Insider, give Landau a try. Take an extra look at the brand new 8385 cargo pant, currently 20% off through February. Nab a great price on a great pant and share your feedback.
